What iBuy Does

iBuy is a visual shopping tool. You upload or photograph an image, and we identify purchasable products in it. We then show you where to buy those products from third-party retailers.

Images You Upload

• Images are sent to our server and forwarded to AI providers (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude) solely for product identification.
• We do not store your original images permanently. Images may be cached temporarily (up to 1 hour) to avoid redundant processing if you re-upload the same image.
• If you choose to share a scene, a resized version of your image and the identification results are stored so others can view the shared link.
• We do not use your images to train AI models. We do not sell your images.

Camera & Photo Library (iOS App)

The iBuy iOS app requests access to your device camera and photo library solely to capture or select images for product identification. Photos are processed the same way as web uploads — sent to our API for identification and not stored permanently unless you choose to share.

Affiliate Links

Product links may contain affiliate tracking parameters. When you click “Find & Buy” and make a purchase, we may earn a commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you. We use services like Skimlinks and Amazon Associates for affiliate link management.

Data We Collect

• Usage data: We may collect anonymous usage analytics (pages visited, features used) to improve the product. We do not track you across other websites.
• Account data: If you create an account, we store your email address and saved collections. We use Supabase for authentication and data storage.
• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate iBuy:

• Google Gemini & Anthropic Claude — AI product identification
• Serper.dev — Product search and shopping results
• Vercel — Hosting and serverless functions
• Supabase — Authentication and database (when applicable)

Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data passed to them.

Cookies

iBuy uses minimal cookies necessary for the service to function. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

Children's Privacy

iBuy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of any data we hold about you by contacting us. If you have shared scenes, you may request their removal at any time.
